Lista de restauraciones importantes a lo largo de la historia

Aunque esta lista solamente incluye restauraciones en Europa y Estados Unidos, esta bastante completa mostrando cronológicamente las restauraciones que se han realizado comenzando en 1565 con la capilla Sixtina, 53 años posteriores  a cuando fue pintado el techo originalmente. Asimismo se extiende hasta el año 2006 con la fundación de AMIEN (Art Materials Information and Education Network)
